adidas Introduces New Snoop Dogg & Mark Gonzales Collaboration in 'LA Stories'

Earlier this year, we reported on a collaboration between adidas, Snoop Dogg and skateboarding legend Mark “Gonz” Gonzales. We even linked up with Snoop himself for an exclusive interview. Now, adidas skateboarding has unveiled a new promotional piece featuring Snoop Dogg and Mark Gonzales sharing stories.

Specifically, the new vignette finds Snoop and Gonz speaking briefly about their early encounters with the ice cream men forLA Stories. Today’s visual is the first of three clips scheduled for release, and can be viewed above. At present time, Snoop Dogg is promoting his new show with Martha Stewart.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Will Star in a New Original Series on YouTube Red

Soon, Ballers won’t be the only series in which Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars.

Today, YouTube announced that it had signed a deal with the star actor/former professional wrestler/former footballer for a brand new original series on its Red subscription service. Tentatively titled Lifeline, the half-hour series will star Johnson — who has over 1.3 million subscribers on his own YouTube channel — and will center on a life insurance company. This isn’t your average life insurance company, though. Instead of merely doling out policies, the company sends its agents 33 days into the future to help prevent the accidental deaths of its clients. “We’re taking our YouTube partnership to the next level with Lifeline,” said The Rock in a statement. “YouTube has given me the opportunity to connect with my fans on a very direct level, and now we’re teaming up with the most innovative creators in the game to bring our special brand of action adventure to the audience.”

Billed as a “sci-fi action thriller,” Lifeline‘s eight-episode run is set to premiere sometime in 2017.

'Fear the Walking Dead' Unleashes a New Season of Its Web Series

All you Fear the Walking Dead fans will have an early fix of the show as AMC releases a new season of the web series. Titled Fear the Walking Dead: Passages, the 16-part series helps connect to Season 3 of the post-apocalyptic spin-off show, which will air in 2017. Episodes of Passage will debut every Sunday online and then on-air during episodes of The Walking Dead for the duration of its seventh season, which premieres on Sunday, October 23.

Netflix's 'Black Mirror' Shows Us How Terrifying the Future of Technology Can Be

The British cult classic show Black Mirror first made its debut on Channel 4 back in late 2011 and now it gears up for its stateside revamp filled with an all-star cast. Created by Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror – which refers to the reflective omnipresent, dark screens of your smartphone, laptop, tablet and, yes, TV – is an anthology series which focuses on one of the most terrifying things that exist in our world today: technology. What started out as a colloquial show soon went viral, even attracting the likes of Jon Hamm who starred in the show’s 90-minute Christmas special, “White Christmas.” To put it this way, think of Black Mirror as the modern-day Twilight Zone for the existential crises of the Millennial era.

Brooker’s searing social commentary presents a place where technology has wreaked havoc and warped people’s minds. What is possibly one of the best things about Black Mirror is its ability to present something that seems completely ridiculous, but at the same time, something wholly familiar. The dystopian alternative realities – or simply extreme social scenarios – don’t feel that far off from the current state of our tech-dependent world, which only makes them that much more unsettling. Letting technology take over our social, domestic, and working lives, we are advancing to the point where we give it too much control or lose control of it altogether.
